Our Frimley Hall wedding story. Every now and then when we meet our wedding couples something just clicks. You’re comfortable with them. Them with you. like you’ve known them for ages. Mike and Izy were one of those couples.
Our story began
We first met Mike and Izy back in June 2016 when they came down to our Southampton photography studio. They were looking for a wedding photographer and its been a whirlwind ever since. Quite fitting that we woke up on the morning of October 21st 2017 to find “Storm Brian” :-). Normally when we wake on a wedding day and its not great weather we have a little chat about how to proceed. This morning Sue said “Its Mike and Izy it will be fine” and thats all we said about it.
We left home a little earlier than expected. We were starting with Izy at 12/12:30 but left home at 10. Its the M3 and wet weather traffic is always painful so when we arrived at the Frimley Hall Hotel we had a chill our and a coffee whilst we waited to start.
Sue and I don’t change much for a planned “wet wedding” but we do leave a little extra time. We generally start a little earlier too because our brides are generally a little more tense because of the weather. But we soon put their mind to rest. The Frimley Hall Hotel is a good venue too so thats a bonus in this weather. We also pack plain white and plain black umbrellas so we fully expect to get out after the “I do’s” at some point. We can normally keep our couples nice and dry and get some sensational photos too.
The travelling was great
Phew. We arrived for out day taking Frimley Hall wedding photos so we were very happy.
Our way up the M3 was surprisingly good and we arrived at Frimley by 11am and settled in for a coffee. Just before 12 we headed off to see Izy and the girls and literally spent 2 hours laughing and shooting some amazing details. We spread out time between the girls, the lads and the amazing autumnal details so the time just flew by. Sparkly rings and shoes done we headed down to the ceremony room. Today we were working with our only preferred videographer Neil so we had pre-arranged our positions so that the couple got the best from us both.
The wedding
Izy walking into the room was a pretty special moment and one I am sure Mike will never forget. The “I do’s” were short and sweet and before you could blink an eye we were heading out but not before an amazing shot of them walking down the isle. We decided to head straight outside because the weather looked reasonable and it was the right choice. Lots of hugs and kisses and the family shots in dry albeit windy conditions, but great light which is all important. A few lovely relaxed portraits and then back inside for the speeches. The speeches were pretty awesome too, 6 of them, or was it 7 😁 fun and entertaining and as is becoming more popular these were before the wedding breakfast.
Once the wedding breakfast was finished we took Mike and Izy for a few indoor portraits whilst we waited for the room to be turned around and once done we headed back for cake cutting. I don’t think I have ever seen a more fitting wedding cake, it was absolutely beautiful and definitely unique. Right after the cake cutting we photographed the first dance which was lovely. A few dances later Sue and I said our goodbyes and headed home. Exhausted and very happy 😊 another amazing wedding and one that we had been looking forward to since meeting Mike and Izy back in 2016.
Sue and I have done quite a few Frimley Hall wedding days but this one really was special.
