Southend barns was another new venue for us and our Southend barns Wedding Photography. This always surprises me after so many years photographing weddings but the UK is a big place 😃
We join Tim and Nicky for their wedding at the beautiful Southend barns near Chichester. We met Tim and Nicky when we did andy and kimberley’s Wedding Photography back in 2013 at Rivervale Barn. So we already knew this was going to be a fab wedding and we were honestly not disappointed.

Having met Tim and Nicky a week or so before for an engagement shoot. Also to chat over the wedding photography we also knew they would be great on the day too.
We started our day with Nicky and the girls at Southend Barns for a couple of hours preparations which was just perfect. Everyone was buzzing and the Barn was filling up with guests. The weather was overcast, no surprise because it was forecast and as the hours went by the sunshine started to appear and the day started to look much better thank expected. The prep shots were amazing. Lovely details and getting ready shots a pretty perfect start to any wedding day and we were very happy.

We then went to see Tim who had arrived in a snazzy TVR sports car. I took some photos of the boys and of course the rings before heading back to Nicky just in time to see her dad arrive. Poor lads don’t get much attention at this time but thats generally because they are a little more nervous than the girls. Thats generally because the girls have been pampered since they woke and us lads normally have to fend for ourselves 😁.

We then headed into the ceremony, the arrival shots were brilliant. Nicky just smiled and giggled all the way whilst poor Tim looked so nervous. That all changed as soon as Nicky arrived by his side and you could feel calmness in the room.
The ceremony was really nice and enjoyable to be a part of and straight out into the line up for Confetti. Bride, groom and of course me were covered in confetti for the family photos. But it all worked out in the end and we are aware that venues have restrictions and preferences and thats all part of being a wedding photographer.

Confetti done, the sun was shinning and everyone very happy. champagne, canapés and a beautiful couple what more could we ask for. We spent a couple hours on the lawns shooting a few group photos as well as our reportage wedding photography we are known for. We also took Tim and Nicky for a walk in the courtyard gardens which are delightful. I honestly think will just keep getting better and better as time goes on.
Just before the wedding breakfast I organised the everybody shot and afterwards we all headed into dinner.

Sue and I then took our table photos and headed out to grab our dinner. I had raced the day before and had a half marathon the next day so I tucked into bbq’d chicken and pasta whilst they all tucked into their lovely dinner. Afterwards the speeches were entertaining and then coffee whilst Sue and I setup our Funtime Foto booth ready for an hour or so of fun. Just as we hsetup the heavens opened and the rain started…phew that was a lucky escape then…..
After the funtime and a few pictures around the fire pit we headed into the barn for cake cutting and dance photos before Sue and I said our goodbyes and headed home.
All in all this was a perfect wedding. Sunshine when we needed it and the rain held of until dinner time. Great couple (as always) and wonderful family and guests.
