Sue and I have been offering cake smash shoots for almost 10 years and the whole process has changed so much. We used to use a box standard backdrop and a shop brought cake plonked on a plate haha. Note we have a dedicated studio area for cake smash along with a waterproof floor because of the splash part as well as new cakes that are all Gand decorated too.

Exactly one year ago we met Gabriella for her cake smash and splash and we had a great time. Nice photos and lots of mess. A few months ago her mummy, Beth, Asked me wether we would do another for her second birthday. My initial response was OMG a 2 year old running around with cake haha. But I agreed and we set a date, the exact date as last year in fact 🙂

When Beth, Josh and Gabriella arrived we had a little catchup and warmup before a few family photos. I soon won Gabriella over with a teddy and some of my “well loved stupidness” haha.

We started with a few family photos which was nice. Gabriella wore a lovely party dress and she loved it.

We then got the cake out and OMG she nearly went crazy with excitement. She first walked up to the cake and stuck a finger in. She then. literally thumped it haha. we sat her down and the next 10 minutes were a complete blur. She had the most amazing time bashing the cake, eating a little and creating mess and havoc.

It really was a big hit with lots of smiles and giggles.

We also did our splash part because Gabriella just about fitted the bath 🙂

The Main event, the cake shoot for a 2 year old

Our cakes are all beautifully decorated by us too give us the squishy buttercream and superb burst of colour too, either blue, pink or chocolate coloured. We also have a selection of lovely cake and and cake toppers too. We can choose Dairy free or Vegan cakes which do cost a tiny bit more but only ask you cover the extra needed.

Cakes for a 2 year old are higher too, 3 tiers instead of 2 🙂

Our Splash time in our lovely baby bath. So OK its not all about the cake…………

The kids generally love the bath time in our beautiful little roll top bath especially imported from our pals in Texas. Obviously with a 2 year old they may not fit but we can advise you on that when we chat. If not a bath we sill have the bath ready to wash your baby afterwards.

We have a modern comfortable studio with lots of space and perfectly setup for our cake smash and splash shoots. We have a bathroom and changing areas fully heated and more importantly air conditioned for now when it’s hotter outside.

Lots of free parking offload and a waiting room if you arrive early.

We have free high speed guest wifi so you can catch up one facebook whilst we photograph the children and you can enjoy a lovely latte from our deluxe coffee machine which of course is all free too.

Free cookies for the children and adults. Our famous Gingerbread cookies are very popular and people say they are worth coming back for although quite honestly some sessions are so crazy fast we just don’t have time, Its all about the kids here at JPP.

We also have phone sockets available for recharging, you only need to ask.

What does a cake smash and splash cost for a 2 year old?

Our 2 year old cake smash shoots cost just £250

We start with a few family photos or photos of the birthday baby in his or her party cloths. This is a mini shoot only so no changes but its amazing value. The cost includes all of the photos that we take supplied ready to print and share, plus the cake and all the photos we take. We do not hold back, if we take 100 photos then you get 100 photos all beautifully finished ready to print and share.

Surely there must be hidden extras?

Absolutely not. Sue and I sell our photo packages just like we prefer to buy things, that is everything upfront and honest. Every package we offer from newborns, cake shoots and family shoots comes with all of the photos that we take (minus any mistakes or blinkers etc) and they are all high resolution 300dpi ready to print and share with family and friends. That means afterwards you can pop along to your local printers and buy prints or a canvas which is super important if you live away or if your parents live away and they want photos or any album, you just forward the download link that we send you.

Some photographers offer cake shoots for £95 but you don’t get any photos. Or £150.00 and you get a very small selection of photos. Either way you are forced to walk away with very little or indeed nothing or you pay hundreds and maybe thousands afterwards. With us our 2 year old cake shoot smash and splash its £250.00 including the cake and photos and dont forget that includes family too.
