Newborn 1st shoot in Southampton with his big brother
A few weeks ago I was contacted by Karen to book in her newborn son Zac for his Newborn 1st shoot in Southampton, Unusually for our newborns Karen wanted the shoot done at 5 weeks old to match her last son’s shoot.
We normally shoot at 7-10 days old but after a little work it worked perfectly today. Sue and I photographed Karen’s sisters little girl about 6 years ago and are about to photograph her next and in fact her wedding next year too so it was great to get to know more family members.
We had our work cut out
But nothing new there. Newborns are an art and patience is key. Sue and I thrive on this and always have.
This morning we started by getting Cal sleepy and ready for his shoot which went very well. We also spent this time with me getting to know Zac. This is always an important part of pour shoots because my connection with the kids is so important.
It was not long before Cal was sleeping and Zac and I were having fun so we cracked on with the shoot.
The Props
With each basket we shot Cal in, we also brought Zac in too and it just kept getting better and better. So much so that we had to actually slow Zac down 😁
After the basket shots we did a few Christmas shoots, a nice bonus this time of the year, and then we moved onto some family shots, A quick change of lighting and we were off again.
Such a fun shoot and such a lovely family.
