Matt and Laura get married at Rownhams House

Wedding photography at Rownhams House

Its been a long time since we did 2 weddings in a row but Matt and Laura are very good friends and this is one we could not have missed. We know the family well and photographed Laura’s brothers wedding around 10 years ago and that was an equally epic wedding day too.

We started our wedding with Laura at Mum’s home in fair oak which is a familiar place for us because we have be wined and dined there many times 😃 It was a fun couple of hours catching up with a few of the ladies we had not seen for a while as well as everyone else. Lots of details and lots of makeup and hair shots too and did I mention it was lashing down outside ! This has sort of become a tradition with the Sothcott children because Ash and Jo were married on August 1st 10 years ago and it was horrendous❣️  But as this of you know who follow us, we dont let the weather spoil our day. I had already been out for a 6am walk for 5 wet miles.

After some fun with the girls we headed off to the church and met with a few other family members and of course the main man Matt. A sneaky shot outside and a few more in the church before we setup for Laura’s entrance.

Laura and Dad James got out of the camper and walked the short path to the church. I knew then that everything was going to be ok because they were both smiling from ear to ear and the Sothcott smile is a pretty special one 😃 I took my place in church which was not the best but once in Gods house I am grateful for whatever I am given 😂

The ceremony was just beautiful. Dark and dismal outside but warm and loving inside this old chilly church. Afterwards Matt and Laura “Mr & Mrs Jarman” Walked the path she had previously walked with her dad and the smiles were the same, maybe slightly bigger even but heartwarming to see that despite all the rain, wind and whatever else Mother Nature could throw at us these 2 were very happy 💙❤️.

OnRoute to our venue today we stopped at a local bridge for a brolly shot. We did this 10 years ago and its a beauty. Then after some bridge fun and a few close call drivers we headed to the venue which today was Rownhams House which is situated just a couple miles from our studio.

We arrived and got started with guests and details. Sue and I were guests today as well as togs so lots to capture. We started with all the fun and even this it was indoor fun it was great. Rownhams house is a large sprawling venue which does make photography challenging when inside but that makes it interesting too. We eventually decided to do the family groups in the hallway because there was much less traffic that way. Just the dreaded smokers haha but they were all happy to wait until we had done. The groups were great fun and lots of banter.

We then moved to dinner which was an amazing Afternoon tea. I could not imagine anyone was hungry after the amazing canapés but they were 😍 Afternoon Tea is becoming more and more popular and today people loved it. Alcohol had been flowing since very early and continued to flow so this was perfect good for just that.

Afterwards the speeches and they were amazing. James FOB speech was especially moving the things he said about Matt and of course the lovely Laura.

Afterwards we all get moved over the courtyard to the coach house. I don’t especially like the way they move the whole wedding to a “new venue” but hey ho it does not matter what I like 😂  The coach house is a series of smaller rooms and a dance floor and we continued the fun over there.  The music was sensational and the company even better.

A little later we cut the cake and then danced outside under the arches which was pretty special.

We then finished with a group shot of around 150 people in the dark and then a sparkler shot with 150 people in the dark….Did I mention alcohol had been flowing since very early hahaha

It was spectacular ❤️

Too many thank you’s but James and Sharon the perfect hosts always. Ash and Jo so grateful for your help. Finley, Lewis and Henry thank you for keeping me on my toes and entertained. Matt and Laura just thank you ❤️

We love you all dearly.

Afterwards Sue and I said our goodbyes and headed off home after a long fun but very wet wedding day. And slept lol
