Family photoshoot on location in Brockenhurst
I have been speaking with Sian about a photoshoot for her mums birthday for some while. The idea was to announce it very close as is often the case. But with Covid things have changed so Mum was in on the secret from about a week ago. Once mum was aware of the gift she asked for it to be at the families most treasured location. In Brockenhurst near the Black Knowl campsite where they used to put the family caravan when the kids were younger and where the kids learned to ride their bikes 🙂 such an amazing idea and obviously we went along with it.
We chose this Sunday for our photo shoot. Probably one of the busiest days in the New Forest. Before we hit the M27 I had a text saying they might be late but we never book back to back so no worries. Sue and I meandered our way to Over Corner car park via a few cheeky shortcuts we know and eventually met with everyone. 6 people and 3 dogs, do dogs count in the new “RULE OF 6” haha anyway it was prior to that ruling.
We wandered along to the chosen location all chatting and getting to know each other. It was just lovely. Once we reached the “perfect spot” it was super busy but there were loads of beautiful locations so we let mum choose and of course it was where the kids used to play so 100% perfect.
We took loads of photos with all of them and lots of different groupings with and without the dogs. It was another proper family shoot that just once again brought home how important it is to capture memories with our loved ones.
What we do here at our family portrait photo shoots
Our studio is a professional studio with air conditioning, private parking and changing and bathroom facilities. Its not our home but we like to make it yours during your shoot. Free Wifi for our clients whilst you are here.
Sue and I photograph hundreds of portraits every year. I am very proud to say we always get the results we want. We have very much an unhurried approach to our studio work. Often we sit down for a coffee with our clients before the shoot and let the kids play on the background with our toys. This make the parents relaxed and the children comfortable and it gives us cracking smiley photos.
The difference between us and a high street studio with a strict time limit is immeasurable because unlike them we never rush a shoot. We believe if people are comfortable and happy in our studio then they will come back again and again and its proved to work 
It also helps that we both LOVE what we do………..
We still meet here at the studio even when we head off to our location shoots, this makes the shoot much easier because we are together from the start and its only 3 or 4 minutes away too. The location has free parking and facilities too.
What about Locations for an outside family shoot?
We have a very private nature reserve very close by that we are allowed to use all year round. Beautiful walks and views to photograph. There is ample parking but we always meet here at the studio and travel together.
Alternatively we can travel to your favourite spot. We might have to charge a little more to do this but you can check with me before deciding. Either way we will get some beautiful locations photos at anytime of the year.
What does it cost?
Our family portrait shoots in our studio or on location cost £200 and includes all of the photos that we take supplied electronically which allows you to download as often as you like to print and share. We do not hold back, if we take 100 photos then you get 100 photos all beautifully finished ready to print and share.
You can choose to have your photoshoot indoors in our modern studio or at our location here in Southampton. We can also quote to go to your favourite location if you prefer.
