Newborn baby photos in Southampton
Yesterday we were joined by 8 week old Baby D for Newborn baby photos here in Southampton. 8 weeks is normally much older than we shoot our Newborn baby photos but baby D was premature and poorly. Her parents have only just been able to get out and about for photos here in our Southampton Newborn baby studio. This happens a few times a year and is absolutely fine. We bend over backwards to make it work.
The shoot
Baby D arrived and soon settled in. She slept quite well but very unsettled which is quite normal for older babies. We had to work carefully but without wasting anytime. We were told she has a 30 minute nap window 😄. Sue and I worked hard for those 30 minutes to get as much as possible in our baskets and it worked very well. Until she woke.
We changed plans
Ok so we now realised we were dealing with a very alert 8 week old mini adult 😄. She was into everything. Proper wriggler, but we had a plan. We changed from our beautiful newborn lighting to our family portrait lights. This only takes 10 minutes and in situations like this is can rescue the day. Ok thats a bit of an exaggeration but it made the shoot great value for the parents and we all deserve that.
Family shoot
We took a lovely selection with Mummy and Daddy and then a few with each in a couple of different outfits that the parents chose from our range. We then dressed Baby D in her normal cloths for a few shots with each too. Lastly we finished in a couple of baby D alone which was a lovely way to finish our shoot here at Southampton in our Newborn baby photo studio.

Although she is 8 weeks old Baby D is yet to be named. Sue and I have been invited to the naming ceremony and party. How lovely.
What we do
Julian Porter Photography has a lovely safe and secure Newborns baby studio here in Southampton with full facilities and free parking. Lots of newborn props and cloths too as well as blankets and toys.
We like to schedule our Newborn baby photos at between 7 and 15 days. This allows us to safely and happily get all the poses we love in all the cute baskets. After this time its still possible as you will see from todays shoot.
When we get an older baby or indeed a larger family we often bring out our family background towards the end. Of course we do not charge any extra for this its just to create beautiful photos.
