Hawks Photo Workshop with Dave
Dave recently asked us to run a photo workshop for him photographing hawks.
Its started with a kiss
10 years ago we met Dave and Annette when we photographed their wedding day up is Basingstoke. A few years later we took Annette to Marwell for one of our “getting to know your camera” workshops which was a great success. Later and not to be out-done 😁 Dave wanted a play. So we arranged for a day at the Hawk Conservancy up near Andover again on one of our “Getting to know your camera” days.
Studio classroom tuition
On these days we start with a little theory and setting ups of equipment and then quickly get shooting. We met Dave at the on-site cafe for a coffee and then got straight to the photos. Dave picked up really quickly and was soon shooting through thick cages and producing some beautiful work which I was very happy about.
We then headed for the flying hawks which is always tricky the first few times, To add to the trickiness the weather was dull and drizzly but that did not put us off or stop Dave capturing some beautiful photographs.
A few more walking around and then we photographed a display before the cold and wet finally got the better of us. It had been a long but very productive day.
The editing process
We are meeting with Dave after Christmas to have an evening of editing and I am looking forward to that a lot.
We offer all sorts of workshops both One-2-One and groups. From specialist subjects through to getting to know your camera and would happily chat about anything in-between. We have put on workshops for lots of great local photographers as well as a few local companies looking to improve their social media presence. Scouting days too
We also offer scouted days around the south coast for those looking to build a portfolio or just find the nicest places to shoot.
We hope that you enjoy these photographs from this workshop. we are very pleased with them and we feel they show off using your cameras AV and S mode very well. Learning how to use the various focus and metering modes all of which are interesting to learn about and will take your photography to a new level.
