Ever since I first met Izy a couple years ago I knew she was an amazing person. Sometimes in life you just get a feeling, well I got one back then when we met. We have worked with Izy a couple of times over the past couple of years and got to know her and her lovely family quite well.
Fast forward to earlier this year and I got a message from Izy saying she was expecting her first baby 💙 Sue and I could not have been happier and even more so when she said she planned a newborn shoot with us. The main reason is that she lives 151 miles away in Plymouth. Thankfully her lovely Mum lives a little closer so it was all tied ups with a visit to Mum. Although mostly me 😃
7 Day old newborn perfection
Izy, mum Sarah and 7 day old Finley arrived and we all caught up, well Finley never said much to be fair but he did sleep well. We contemplated starting straight off but experience has taught us to follow our routine with newborn babies so thats exactly what we did.
Creating the right environment
We had already started by creating the right environment. Our studio is warm, comfortable and safe and filled with the scent of our specially blended Aromatherapy oils it is just perfect for babies. Our props are all warmed in preparation so there are no unexpected cold areas for babies delicate skin. No shocks to wake them or disturb their slumber.
Once Finley was ready we started with our first prop. He was not our most settled baby but he was happy. We worked through a pre selected range of cute little newborn outfits. This is mums first job when she arrives, we have hundreds of lovely super soft outfits specially made for us to choose from.
We worked our way through our range of baskets and props before changing Finley. He was just about sleepy enough to get the most adorable photos which after all, is what it’s all about.
A few with mummy
We finished with a few photos of Finley and Mummy and of course Grandma too. Its such an important time in a families life that we try our best to get the parents involved and anyone else who comes to the session. These are such precious moments and they deserve to be recorded even if just for the family archives.
