Freya’s cake smash photo shoot

Sue and I met Freya when we visited Petersfield to photograph our friend Caroline and her awesome puppy Kobe a few months back. Imagine what a lovely surprise when Mummy and Daddy booked in for a cake smash and Splash photo shoot with us. Our second shoot of the weekend so a pretty perfect way to almost start. Our forest shoot was equally as epic but Christmas so no blogging just yet.

We started with a family shoot when Freya arrived and got a few lovely photos whilst we warmed her up 🙂 This is a very popular add on for us and a great way to get a few family portraits at minimal cost.

Once that was done we got Freya ready and honestly she looked adorable 💕 Once in. front of the cake she very daintily picked and prodded and tasted the cake. This went on for a few minutes but she was soon covered in pink. At this point she decided to get mobile haha, She got up and walked around but it was almost as if she knew the boundaries and at all times (well most) she stayed within the background so great for photos. Plus we got some incredible smily photos whilst she travelled 🤣

Then Freya decided with a littler prompting from dad to actually sit on the cake haha that was fun, well until she then decided to sit on everything else. So we had little.le pink bottom shapes all over the place haha.

We then popped her in our lovely roll top bath and she absolutely loved it. Smile after smile it was wonderful to watch.

Another fabulous shoot with this amazing family and once again we are humbled that people travel so far to see us.

The Main event, the cake shoot

Our cakes are all beautifully decorated by us too give us the squishy buttercream and superb burst of colour too, either blue, pink or chocolate coloured. We also have a selection of lovely cake and and cake toppers too. We can choose Dairy free or Vegan cakes which do cost a tiny bit more but only ask you cover the extra needed.

Our Splash time in our lovely baby bath. So OK its not all about the cake…………

Sometimes if the babies don’t really go for the cake it’s not a problem because we encourage them to enjoy it. Today of course we did not need to but if thats the case then they generally love the bath time in our beautiful little roll top bath especially imported from our pals in Texas.

Our cake smash photo studio location in Southampton

We have a modern comfortable studio with lots of space and perfectly setup for our cake smash and splash shoots. We have a bathroom and changing areas fully heated and more importantly air conditioned for now when it’s hotter outside.

Lots of free parking offload and a waiting room if you arrive early.

We have free high speed guest wifi so you can catch up one facebook whilst we photograph the children and you can enjoy a lovely latte from our deluxe coffee machine which of course is all free too.

Free cookies for the children and adults. Our famous Gingerbread cookies are very popular and people say they are worth coming back for although quite honestly some sessions are so crazy fast we just don’t have time, Its all about the kids here at JPP.

We also have phone sockets available for recharging, you only need to ask.

What does a cake smash and splash cost?

Our cake smash and splash shoots cost just £200 and includes all of the photos that we take supplied ready to print and share, plus the cake and both the smash and splash shoot. We do not hold back, if we take 100 photos then you get 100 photos all beautifully finished ready to print and share. You can add a family shoot for only £50.00 extra which is amazing value and very popular too.

Surely there must be hidden extras?

Absolutely not. Sue and I sell our photo packages just like we prefer to buy things, that is everything upfront and honest. Every package we offer from newborns, cake shoots and family shoots comes with all of the photos that we take (minus any mistakes or blinkers etc) and they are all high resolution 300dpi ready to print and share with family and friends. That means afterwards you can pop along to your local printers and buy prints or a canvas which is super important if you live away or if your parents live away and they want photos or any album, you just forward the download link that we send you.

Some photographers offer cake shoots for £95 but you don’t get any photos. Or £150.00 and you get a very small selection of photos. Either way you are forced to walk away with very little or indeed nothing or you pay hundreds and maybe thousands afterwards. With us our cake shoot smash and splash its £200.00 including the cake and photos.
