Summer and her amazing birthday cake photo shoot

Yesterday we met birthday girl, 1 year old Summer for her cake smash shoot and it truly was a super experience. Jennifer and Tom were gifted one of our gift certificates and chose to use it for a cake shoot as well as a few family photos thanks to our very popular family photo add on which is incredible value and only £50 extra.

Summer arrived with Mummy and Daddy at 9am. She obviously had a LOT to cram into her birthday. A little dazed at first which is quite normal so we sat and chatted for a little while before setting to work with the family photos. As always Sue and I had previously deep cleaned and setup the various backgrounds and props needed for today, this saves us time and means as we remove a background, the next is waiting and a quick freshen up with an anti bag wipe is all thats needed.

The family photos were fun and soon enough the cake was happening. Summer picked at her cake and ate very carefully, much like lots of little girls. After a little encouragement and some fun “Alexa” music we were soon getting amazing photos.

Once the cake was done we once again swapped backdrops, cleaned and setup the roll-top bathtub and filled it with warm water and lots of baby safe bubbles. We offer Johnston’s or Asda’s both amazing.

The bath shoot was amazing she splashed and pretty much covered us all in water as well as about 50% off the studio. Nothing we are not prepared for tho and it makes for amazing photos.

Afterwards to our warmed drying area with changing mat and towels to get back into her grown up cloths.

The Main event, the cake

Our cakes are all beautifully decorated by us too give us the squishy buttercream and superb burst of colour too. We also have a lovely cake and and cake toppers too. We can choose Dairy free or Vegan cakes which do cost a tiny bit more but only ask you cover the extra needed.

Sometimes if the babies don’t really go for the cake it’s not a problem because we encourage them to enjoy it. Today of course we did not need to but if thats the case then they generally love the bath time in our beautiful little roll top bath especially imported from our pals in Texas.

We have a modern comfortable studio with lots of space and perfectly setup for our cake smash and splash shoots. We have a bathroom and changing areas fully heated and more importantly air conditioned for now when it’s hotter outside.

Lots of free parking offload and a waiting room if you arrive early.

We have free high speed guest wifi so you can catch up one facebook whilst we photograph the children and you can enjoy a lovely latte from our deluxe coffee machine which of course is all free too.

Free cookies for the children and adults. Our famous Gingerbread cookies are very popular and people say they are worth coming back for although quite honestly some sessions are so crazy fast we just don’t have time, Its all about the kids here at JPP.

We also have phone sockets available for recharging, you only need to ask.

What does a cake smash and splash cost?

Our cake smash and splash shoots cost just £200 and includes all of the photos that we take supplied ready to print and share, plus the cake and both the smash and splash shoot. We do not hold back, if we take 100 photos then you get 100 photos all beautifully finished ready to print and share. You can add a family shoot for only £50.00 extra which is amazing value and very popular too.

Surely there must be hidden extras?

Absolutely not. Sue and I sell our photo packages just like we prefer to buy things, that is everything upfront and honest. Every package we offer from newborns, cake shoots and family shoots comes with all of the photos that we take (minus any mistakes or blinkers etc) and they are all high resolution 300dpi ready to print and share with family and friends. That means afterwards you can pop along to your local printers and buy prints or a canvas which is super important if you live away or if your parents live away and they want photos or any album, you just forward the download link that we send you.

Some photographers offer cake shoots for £95 but you don’t get any photos. Or £150.00 and you get a very small selection of photos. Either way you are forced to walk away with very little or indeed nothing or you pay hundreds and maybe thousands afterwards. With us our cake shoot smash and splash its £200.00 including the cake and photos.
