How it all began

Sue and I were contacted a while ago by Liam.  We knew him from several weddings and was one of our biggest group of wedding friends. Let me explain.  We have lots of people we have met over the years and lots of those become great clients, some become friends and some become great friends, some even become our closest friends like JoJo who we love dearly.  Its such a fab way of earning a living.  Anyway I digress! this group of friends started many years ago when we met the Piller’s aged about 2. They eventually grew up and we did the weddings and one of the Piller’s married another friend of ours Danielle so the group started and grew and grew and grew….

This beautiful June wedding New Place hotel wedding photos

Our beautiful wedding with our new friends Liam and Liliya. Liam had met Liliya whilst they worked on the cruise ships. Fell in love, Him a southampton boy and her from the Ukraine so wedding planning was interesting to say the least. We started our day with Liliya at home for a couple of hours of what can only be described as manic preparations. Fun but manic. The girls from the Ukraine were so much fun but when they chat not sounds like fighting, of course its not.

Beautiful wedding details makes this Hampshire wedding photographer team very happy indeed. I mean just look at this shoes. Everything else about today was the same calibre too. Top notch from start to finish.

The boys

After our preps we headed down to on e of our regular churches in Southampton St Edmunds. This was a treat all around because not only did we get some great photos of the boys we also met some very old friends. It turns out Liam’s dad is the brother of one of my teenage best friends so I knew his family all very well indeed. Especially his nan Joyce ❤.

St Edmunds is a great church with sensible rules so we had a great time and took fab photos. Sue and the back capturing this beautiful church and me up front with our couple.

Outside a few brief hugs and kisses before we headed off for some New Place wedding photography. Actually before the New Place photos we were stopping off at The abbey ruins in Bishops Waltham for photos. We stopped at this beauty spot for 10 minutes to allow guests to arrive at New Place. We took some amazing photos in the June flowers and had some fun.

The main event. We headed back to New Place where the guests were already enjoying the Pimms in the sunshine. After a quick drink we headed straight into family shots which were fun and interesting with the language issues but lots of laughter so all good.

Robbie (Grooms dad) got lost so was missing until dinner time. I seem to remember this was normal for him as a kid…. We then went into dinner and Sue and I joined them because we knew about 60% of the wedding. We sat with our friends Jess and Victoria so fab.  I also sat next to a chap who I randomly started chatting to in the Apple Store a week ago. such a small world 🙂  The food was just as good as the company and Sue and I managed a few shots of the magician as well as some lovely table shots too before the speeches came around.

The speeches were a serious amount of fun but I do believe the best men got a little carried away slating poor Liam. Haha but after that things calmed down a bit and the evening was ready to start. As a Hampshire wedding photographer we see lots of this fun at the speeches.

The dancing

Before we could get on with the dancing we had a couple of family groups to photograph. This is all part of being a Hampshire wedding photographer. We have a list of important shots and they have to be done. These were late because Robbie went walkabout.

Afterwards we cut the cake and went straight into the first dance.  Just like the rest of the day it was pretty epic and Liam and Liliya danced beautifully together. Again the room was silent and just watched this beautiful couple glide around the dance floor. Beautiful.

After a couple Songs Sue and I said our many goodbyes and headed home. We arrived home at about 11pm our latest for a while but also very happy knowing that 2 of our friends had a wonderful day and a perfect start to married life.

Thank you to all of our friends old and new for the most amazing day again.
