East Horton Golf Club wedding photographers with Maria and Rikki | Greek wedding by Julian Porter Photography | 02380 767084
Today we were East Horton Golf Club wedding photographers for the amazing Maria and Rikki, a Greek wedding with probably the most laid back couple we have ever photographed.
Beautiful girls, Gorgeous Details and Chicken Nuggets
Our day started as it often does Photographing the girls at home. These photos are often the place to start getting creative and today was no different. We arrived a little earlier than expected because its was already 24º and only 11am and we really did not want to rush around today.
We arrived to a wonderful Greek welcome from our amazing Greek bride. Did I mention todays was a Greek wedding day? We have worked with these amazing Greek families many times and out most recent wedding was Adam and Katrina’s Tithe Barn wedding day.
You can see that below. But come back to finish this amazing wedding too.
We soon settled into the preparation photos whilst our beautiful bride tucked into her McNuggets breakfast. I love a girl that knows what she wants and gets on with it 😃. Also for the record Maria’s opening welcome was “help your self to anything apart from my McDonalds”. OMG I loved her even more from that second on 💕
After an hour of preps and what felt like a million people running around. Sue and `I headed off to East Horton Golf Club to meet the lads.

Sue and I have been preffered East Horton Golf Club wedding photographers for many years. We actually photographed the owners daughters wedding there a long while ago. So we know it very well indeed.
When we arrived Rikki was with the registrars so we headed over to the barn to meet up with Adam and Katrina. And a few other friends. After a few hello’s we were back at the venue with Rikki and best man Bobby for a few photos. We stayed inside for this, well balcony because the temp was creeping up towards 28º and we wanted the boys to stay cool. Although to be fair it would be tough to find anyone cooler than these 2.
A couple shots then back down to wait for the Limo’s to arrive. with a whole host of Bridesmaids and flower girls and pageboys typical of a great Greek Wedding the Limos were a perfect choice. A few quick shots again we wanted to keep Maria cool and comfortable. then into the Air conditioning.
The I’Do’s
The ceremony was beautiful. If you know Maria and Rikki, well it was typically “them” The registrars were amazing and brought a nice buzz too the important part. A few photos then the signing. Then the signing with witnesses then the signing with bridesmaids then the bridal party haha it was not stop and so much fun.
Afterwards we all spilled out into the courtyard assisted by bridesmaid and our lovely friend Gemma (who I suspect is still hungover now) 😂💋 Lots of relaxed photos of people enjoying themselves and then out to our favourite spot as East Horton Golf Club wedding photographers for the family groups.
These were a lot of fun and despite the number never took long thanks to our helpers. We then took Maria and Rikki for a few couple shots. They had indicated that they were not fussy on posed shots so we made this super quick just a few minutes.
We then all headed back for the “everybody” shot and confetti. The courtyard is perfect for this.
We like to finish this part of the day with the everybody shot. Because then everyone is in one place ready for the dinner call. Victoria the wedding manager loved it too.
Into dinner
Into the beautiful room upstairs for dinner and afterwards speeches. We were pre-warned that speeches would be quick but they were in fact perfect. 5 minutes each, topical and fun. With of course a life size cardboard cutout of Rikki dressed as a sailor boy. But what wedding doesn’t have one of those 😆
Then downstairs for coffee and a few more photos. We then took Maria and Rikki out in the golf buggies. I knew this would be super quick coz these 2 really were amazing laid East Horton Golf Club wedding photographersback happy to be with their friends kinda people. So a few by the lake, a couple in the woods and back to the party.
The evening with the Greek wedding
The evening guests arrived and again we knew lots of them from previous Greek weddings and other weddings and events too. Then the cake cutting which was fun and then the dancing…..
Zorba the Greek expertly executed
Whilst I am typing this I have it playing on my MacBook. What Greek wedding would be complete without Zorba the Greek as the first dance. OMG we laughed, clapped, cried it had everything just amazing.
Afterwards we photographed a few more songs but it was quite clear we were not going to drag these 2 away for a sunset shot so we started our long list of goodbyes.
Amazing day, amazing people, amazing everything. We LOVED our Greek wedding day so very much. Maria and Rikki thank you for choosing us to be your East Horton Golf Club wedding photographers.
