A Gardens Yalding wedding with Steve and Sarah

A true story book day at The Gardens Yalding wedding venue in Kent. Back in April on a very cold day Sue and I travelled down to Kent again for another amazing wedding but this time we had no snow. We actually headed off from home late  on Monday afternoon because I had to drop my Speedmax Race bike up to Canyon in London. So after that we headed to a hotel in Kent for a couple of beers and a nice dinner which was a pretty perfect start to a pretty amazing wedding.

The day

Early Tuesday we were up and heading towards our bride Sarah. We know Sarah and her family well. Sue and I have photographed them many times so it was like a home away from home for us. We caught up with everyone including Harry and Toby (Haribo and Toblerone) and started to capture the magic.

The preps

The boys were amazing and this wedding was as much about them as it was Sarah and Steve. Todays theme was “super heroes” and boy did they take it to heart. To be fair the morning with the boys and Sarah was the normal mix of nerves From our beautiful bride.

It was the usual chaos normally from small children and in this case 2 very excited super heroes. People often ask me how we cope capturing such beautiful fine details amongst the wedding chaos but I guess that just comes from years of practice and a great team of course. 🙂 I could not function without Sue and she often spends this time distracting the kids whilst I capture the fine details.

After a couple of hours playing (haha)  we headed to Gardens Yalding wedding venue.  Which was our beautiful home for the day.  Unfortunately the weather was still drab but not a single person looked drab. Smiles all around. Thankfully over the next hour or so, the weather started to brighten up and the decision was made to have the ceremony outside. People arrived and people smiled, the venue looked incredible and there was a definite buzz about this otherwise sleepy Tuesday.

After a few shots with Steve, who is a policeman. A few of the lads too. Sue and I caught up with the registrars to make sure we were all sorted for the ceremony. About 10 minutes later Sarah arrived looking absolutely breathtaking in her dress which had a subtle “dead pool”  design.

Straight off out into the beautiful gardens to get married to “her Steve” Sarah was led to the covered pergola by Harry and Toby and of course, bridesmaids and her Dad she looked amazing and was her usual giggly self.

The ceremony was amazing, the registrars really went over the top to make the lovely Haribo comfortable. Harrry is Autistic so it was quite moving how the adapted the ceremony to suit him, Haribo is such a charmer, everyone loves him.

After the ceremony we had drinks on the lawns and then a few photos of family groups and the usual wedding VIP’s as we call them. Mums and Dads etc. We then took Steve and Sarah off for a few portraits around the beautiful grounds which was a lot of fun but alas we had to stop because we were called back and into dinner.

It was worth it because the food was amazing and service awesome.  The room decoration was again Superhero themed but all home made and very classy. After a great meal and a lot of chatting came the speeches,  Four speeches. (yes surprise, surprise Sarah spoke haha) and they were very entertaining and full of naughty props. Like I said Steve is a policeman so no surprises there.

The fun continues

After coffee we all headed outside into the gardens again either chilling out or for the very brave.  The bucking bronco. Haha this normally would be reserved for corporate parties but it worked so well for Sarah and Steve it was just perfect.

Absolutely top wedding and perfect location. You were ALL superheroes and we loved it. The Gardens Yalding wedding venue was amazing.
