The story unfolds

I had a message from one of my absolute running heroes and club mate Tony “superman” Ricker’s asking me if we were available for his and Kirsty’s summer wedding. I excitedly said YES and the planning commenced. Tony has been a superb support and inspiration to me along with lots of my LRR buddies too and Kirsty has been a runcamp buddy as well as also a LRR buddy so I knew them both very well and just knew it would be a superb day.

We started our day at the Balmer Lawn in the New Forest with Kirsty, Alice and another Alice for preps and had a great couple of hours. Trying to stay cool in this heat was a challenge. We captured lots of beautiful details and had so much fun zipping between rooms with the girls. Lots and lots of Blue today, there was definitely a theme emerging.

After a few preps we then met Tony and Kevin and had a few real fun photos in the New Forest before heading back to the girls and preparing to walk down the beautiful staircase to the ceremony.

The ceremony room looked beautiful and the crowd quiet as a church mouse as Kirsty walked in with the occasional gasp or wow. Honestly true. Its funny because we are all used to seeing Kirsty in her shorts and tech tops so seeing her in a beautiful wedding dress was sort of extra awesome.

The ceremony was very short and sweet just as they wanted and we were soon ushered into the gardens where the sun shone and the drinks flowed and we got some lovely relaxed photos of everyone enjoying the day. Tony and Kirsty were not precious and people were invited to relax and remove jackets etc. It was all about enjoying the day and comfort and not about anything else. Perfect wedding day.

Outside into the sunshine and it was warm. Lots of water for us today. It was easy to find a nice shaded area for photos. Being regular Balmer Lawn Hotel wedding photographers Sue and I know it very well. This works great for damper days but also for uber sunny days too when you need just a little shade.

We then photographed the family groups and the mandatory Lordshill Road Runner photo which I am pleased to say Sue and I were part of. Then we took Tony and Kirsty into the forest for some portraits with the ponies before heading back for details then into dinner.

The food and fun continues

After an amazing wedding breakfast came the speeches which were all absolutely fantastic especially Kevin’s which just had everyone laughing. It was getting towards evening guest time when we finished and it worked out just perfect timing for people to drift in and out enjoying the cooler evening sunshine. Sue and I setup our wedding photo booth but before we started that we had the cake cutting and first dance.

Go for a swim, Ok not really a swim but a paddle.

After the dance we took Tony and Kirsty off for a few planned evening portraits simply because we knew the evening light would be perfect and Kirsty wanted to play in the nearby stream. little did we know that half the guests wanted to join her so we had so much fun with those shots. It was just brilliant was to end this super summer wedding day in the New Forest.

We then headed back to our wedding photo booth and spent the remainder of the evening there and enjoying catching up with our amazing friends before heading off home about 10:30 feeling very accomplished and very very happy.

Too many people to mention here but a blanket thank you to all our LRR friends for making it awesome for us and for Tony and Kirsty, special thanks to Alice and Kevin, you are both amazing people and its obvious to everyone why you are so popular, thanks to Captain Jim for your help at the stream great captaining right there! But seriously a great big thank you to everyone for a wonderful and very enjoyable wedding day that we absolutely loved.
