Beaulieu Abbey and Montague Arms wedding photography
Our day with Andrew and Cheryl for Beaulieu Abbey and Montague Arms wedding photography
On this beautiful Saturday morning we joined Andrew and Cheryl for their very elegant wedding at beaulieu abbey and the montague arms in the New Forest.
.I started my day with an 05:30am 40 mile cycle ride to Beaulieu. I often do this no matter where the wedding is. But todays ride was a little odd because it was dark when I started. It was early to be fair haha. Anyway as I reached Nursling it started raining and rained all the way to Beaulieu and back and was generally pretty naff. Thankfully that was then end of the rain and the day just got better and better for Andrew and Cheryl.
Our wedding day started
We started our wedding day with Cheryl and the gals about 10:30 over at their home in Park Gate. For some beautiful and seriously elegant details which was lovely. We took lots of beautiful shots and got to know the important people too which makes so much difference to our day. This is our preferred way to start a wedding and art helps us get creative too.
Beaulieu Abbey wedding photography
We then headed off the 30 or so minutes to Beaulieu and once parked at the montague arms. After we had a quick lunch and then walked over to the Abbey to meet Andrew and the lads for some fun shots.
Cheryl has a “thing” about horse droppings so there was a “special wedding shovel” on to hand to clear the path and this did make a fun journey a little later.
After shots with the boys and the arriving guests we waited for Cheryl to arrive in a beautiful Rolls Royce. They were then whisked into church for an absolutely amazing ceremony. It always is in the abbey because its such an awesome building especially bearing in mind it was never built as an Abbey or Church.
Afterwards we all spilled out into the gourds where Pimms and drinks were served. We have done this a few times, it makes for a lovely occasion and really brings the church into the photos. We also did the family photos at the church which again was perfect and meant the next part of the wedding day would be more relaxed for the guests.
Montague Arms wedding photography
We then walked to the Montague Arms led by Cheryl and Andrews Son’s Alistair and Samuel who were on “shovel duty” and took it very seriously there was poo flying everywhere haha.
Back at the Montague arms we had a couple of fun hours photographing the guests enjoying themselves and the beautiful weather. A couple more groups and the couple photos before we headed into room details and then the most amazing wedding breakfast.
Sue and I often get invited to join our couples and depending on when it is we sometimes do and today worked out just perfect because I had no race the next day. I am so pleased coz we had a lovely meal and we sat at an awesome table too.
The speeches
.Speeches. WOW fob and groom were both good. Short and sweet and just as needed but then Alistair and Samuel who were the best men. Alistair for the speech and Samuel for the toast. I am not kidding or exaggerating when I say this was close to being my favourite best man speed EVER. Absolutely amazing and not a dry eye.
Our evening at the Montague Arms
Afterwards back out into the fading sunshine whilst the band setup and then into the cake cut and first dance. Which despite the tight room was a beautiful choreographed number that everyone enjoyed. Strictly come dancing voting and applause finished the dance which is pretty much when we said our goodbyes.
Absolutely TOP day guys we loved it. X
