Another lovely day spent with Tom and Niki at Notley Abbey.

On Saturday we joined Tom and Niki at the beautiful Notley abbey photos for their wedding day and it was a day will with emotion. love and memories. We photographed Niki’s sister, Becca’s wedding a few years ago. And we have seen Becca and Stuart with their 2 lovely boys since so it was great to catch up with them and the rest of the family as well of course to meet Toms family too. All of which made for a lovely atmosphere for our long day at Notley Abbey.
Our start for our day taking Notley Abbey photos
We started our day leaving home at 08:30 and arrived in Buckinghamshire for an early lunch. Before heading to the beautiful Notley Abbey to see Niki and the girls for preparations. The room was frantic to say the least and filled with excited anticipation so we captured our beautiful details and did our thing. We had to leave around 1:10 so arranged the dressing shot around that before heading off to the beautiful church in Dinton where we met the boys again for some prep shots. A lot calmer than the hotel as it always is although some of the lads were missing so we only had Tom and the 2 best men to play with.
The church
Niki arrived and looked amazing and the ceremony was beautiful. Afterwards we all spilled out onto the lawns in absolute glorious sunshine. Lots of relaxed shots of everyone enjoying the day before heading back to Notley Abbey in a gorgeous Rolls Royce.

We followed on and I managed to grab a “requested” shot of the car driving down the Notley driveway which I love. Into Notley Abbey for our family groups which were amazing, fun and so enjoyable at this lovely venue. At this point we had about 90 minutes which is just perfect but the manager came over to me and whispered in my ear to “get my finger out coz he wanted then in 30 minutes early”.
O dear ! thankfully the MOB hears this and was not having any of it and said we agreed 5:15 and we were going to stick to it. I really don’t mind when things get shifted either way but to be told to get my finger out is a little bit cheeky 🙂 . He later told the bride to choose between confetti or a large group shot haha guess how that went. And by the way after getting everything we still went into dinner one time. Some wedding planners/managers simply should not!
Portraits
We then took Niki and Tom for portraits around the beautiful grounds. It was great albeit a little hurried although to be fair both Sue and I thrive inn this environment so not a problem. And as you can see from the portraits we made happen 😁 . Afterwards we photographed the details in the room before heading into the wedding breakfast. Here we photographed our table shots before heading off for our own lunch sat once again in the glorious sunshine.
After dinner we had 3, well 4 speeches and then coffee. Before a few more photographs with Niki and Tom whilst they turned around the main room ready for the dancing.
The dancing
Once the band were setup the dancing started and we photographed a couple songs before heading off on the long drive home. Happy that we had done our job well despite numerous obstacles today and that we came away with awesome photographs for Niki and Tom and the family.
BIG thank you to Lynne (MOB) and Becca for your help today without you it would have been tough, shorter but tough haha. Great to see all the families enjoying the wedding and glorious sunshine too. Thank you for choosing us for your Notley Abbey wedding photography.
